The other avenue of my work is newborn and baby photography.

I love capturing these delicate and meaningful images of a new family.

How it works

My Approach

Over the years I've developed my own look and feel for newborn photography. I think these shots should be subtle, clean, and organic. I'll come to you and setup a beautiful mini-studio with backdrops and gorgeous props from my years of collecting.

I'll always take your input into the kinds of images you'd like to see, and of course, work with any props you'd like to introduce into the session too.

My packages included fully edited digital images, with options for stunning prints, canvases, and albums.

Getting ready for a session

Over the years I've been doing this I've developed a series of tips and tricks to get the most out of a session. Once you've chosen a date for your shoot, I'll help you prepare to make the process as straightforward and simple as possible.

Newborn shoots can also include you, as well as other siblings too for a few intimate family snaps to go along with your little one's staring role.

Ready to book?

I'd recommend getting in touch as early as possible to let me know your due date. However, I know nothing runs to schedule when it comes to newborns! My recommendation is to have your newborn shoot within the first 7-10 days of arrival. So, let me know you'd like a shoot, and we'll keep in touch in the run up to the session date.

When do I book?

It's always worth letting me know you'd like a newborn shoot early. I'll pencil you in around your rough due date, whilst understanding we can't make any plans until much nearer the time.

Someone told me its better to do this once baby is 6 weeks old, is that right?

There's never a bad time to have photos of your new arrival — but in my experience there's a window of just a few short days (around 7-14 days) to get that truly special "newborn" look. That's not to say that the images can't be beautiful beyond that, but certain poses will become tricker as baby starts to grow.

Can I pick the poses and outfits?

Of course. I'm happy to suggest ideas based on my experience, but of course you can be part of the process of picking how we dress and organise each shot.

What if baby is unsettled?

Having worked with newborns for over 15 years now, I have developed a session preparation document which I will send before the day. This will help you prepare you for your session and know what to expect.

If your baby IS unsettled to the point we have to stop, we can rebook for another day. In all my years of experience, this has only ever happened a handful of times. It's part of my job to help comfort and settle little ones ready for their first photos.
